Juicy, floral flavors of red raspberry, cherry and strawberry. Rather Chambolle-like in its freshness. As with the following wine, the finish is slightly dry but the tannins are rather light. 87 points Producer's noteWine making The grapes were hand-picked into small boxes of 25 pounds and generally de-stemmed. Fermentation began with indigenous yeast and was conducted in the classical method of punching down the cap and pumping over the juice. As is customary, the wine was aged in barrels sent from Joseph Drouhin’s inventory. New oak content was restricted to less than 20％ so as not to hide the wine’s true character. Malolactic fermentation was completed naturally in barrels without inoculation. Vintage A challenging vintage. Due to some rain in June, the fruit set was uneven. At havest time some of the parcels were perfectly ripe but others had some difficulties to reach a perfect balance between sugar, acids and flavors. The grapes were harvested between September 20th and October 7th. Light rain appeared during harvest bringing some dilution in a few cuvees. However not once did we see any rot. As harvest progressed we saw important differences in qualities between vineyards. Consequently we declassified over 20％ of the resulting wine, selling it off in bulk to other wineries. The first fermenters were filled with ripe grapes in good balance with acidity. The last part of the crop was lower in acid but still in very healthy condition. Tasting note Good color and a delicious fragrant nose. On the palate, a lovely Pinot Noir chaacter with, as we always try to have in our wines, subtle and delicate tannins. 伝説のワインメーカーが、トニー・ソーターがオレゴン州のビーコン・ヒルで作ったピノ・ノワール登場!!

ウィットネス・ツリー　エステート・ピノ・ノワール 2005 750ml　（ワイン）

ウィットネス・ツリー・ヴィンヤードのぶどう100％から造られました。クローンはPomard，Wadensvil，Dijonl13，Dijon115，Dijon777。ヴィンヤードは25の区画に分かれそれぞれのぶどうは違うタイミングで熟しますので、収穫は9月25日から10月6日頃までにわたりました。　収穫量は1エーカー当たり1.65トン。（1ヘクタールあたり4.07トン）。発酵には土着の酵母のみを使用し、清澄もフィルターもしていません。樽はフレンチオークを使い1/3が新樽で、熟成期間は11ケ月です。凝縮した濃い浪レッドチェリーの色と果実味で、とても構成のよい深みのあるワインです。オレゴンらしさがよくでたヴィンテージです。アタックはやわらかくふくよか。野いちごやラズベリーのコンポートに、ハイビスカスのドライフラワー、紅茶、スパイス、ロースト香、土、なめし革が感じられます。豊かな果実味が広がって持続し、余韻も長いです。深みと凝縮感と複雑味があり、今後何年もボトル内で熟成がすすみよりよくなります。生産量　2779ケース（750ml/12本）

ブルゴーニュのワインとは異なる表現力を持っていますが、そのエレガントさはコート・ド・ニュイのピノ・ノワールを想わせます。ブラックベリーやブラック・チェリー、フレッシュなハーブを思わせるような香り、アタックは大変ソフトで、長い余韻が楽しめます。
